Audit: PTSA members verify the accuracy of the PTSA financial books and records of the financial officer, assuring the general membership that the funds are being managed per state regulations. Committee meets in the summer.

Bookfair: Members help with setup, run bookfairs, and pack up at the end. Bookfairs are held in the fall and spring each school year. You can help with one area and it does not take up a lot of time. There are morning and afternoon shifts for each day if you are helping during the week.

BoxTops Members gather box tops, labels, and bonus certificates collected by students and prep them for submission to the vendor program to earn points and/or donations for our school and PTSA. Promote the program within the school and community.

Budget: Members meet during the summer in conjunction with the PTSA Executive Board in order to discuss and develop the goals and objectives (programs, projects, and activities) of the PTSA in terms of income and expenses for the upcoming school year.

Dad/ Daughter Dance and Mom/ Son Bingo: Dad/Daughter Dance and Mom/Son Bingo: Each year, the PTSA organizes a Father/ Daughter Dance for dads to enjoy a special night with their daughters. Mother/ Son Bingo night will be planned for moms to enjoy a night of games with their boys.

Delegates to the PTA Council (2): These parents will attend Baltimore County PTA Council meetings representing the local unit as a voting member and report back Council actions.

Fundraising: Members plan and execute one or more PTSA fundraising activities throughout the year to support PTSA programs and objectives.

Hospitality: Members set up and clean up for supported school functions and events through the year such as American Education Week, Concerts, etc.

Membership: Organize the PTSA membership drive at the beginning of the school year and support membership promotion, tracking, and reporting throughout the school year.

Nominating: Selected by the PTSA Executive Board; assists with finding qualified candidates for open board and committee positions. Responsible for nominating the best-qualified nominees for each elected office of the PTSA prior to elections (held in May of each year).

Outreach/Advocacy: This committee will research and provide recommendations for one or more advocacy projects, promoting coordination between the PTSA, the school, families and the community.

PHHS Liaison: This parent attends the monthly PTSA meeting at Perry Hall High School on the first Tuesday of every month, and reports pertinent information back to the parents at the PHMS PTSA monthly meeting or via the newsletter.

Print Shop/PawPrints: This committee copies materials for teachers that are distributed to students, and assists with copying/collating the monthly school newsletter, PAWPRINTS, as needed.

Relections: Promote the National PTA Reflections Arts Program to students and staff. Coordinate with staff regarding student entries, forms, and deadlines. Solicit local judges for the varied types of artwork; coordinate a recognition event for artists and families (mimimally, award participation certificates/ribbons and any other awards). Forward winning entries to the county competition per their deadlines. Participate in county/state/national events as requested. Report results to PHMS and the PTSA, submit any online registration and documentation as required.

Restaurant Nights: Area restaurants will give a portion of the funds raised by PHMS families that eat out/ carryout on designated nights. Enjoy a night out without cooking and help support your PTSA! Flyers will be distributed ahead of time to let you know the details ahead of time and funds raised support the PTSA activities.

Scholarship: Members review applications for scholarships from eligible former PHMS students (local high school graduating seniors who are current high school PTSA members). Committee members choose the candidates and present the scholarships at high school ceremonies, if needed.

Special Ed Liaison: Attends BCPS school board meetings and other meetings to advocate for the special education families at PHMS.

Spiritwear: Members sell T-shirts, sweatshirts and other clothing during school and PTSA events to promote school spirit; distribute marketing materials, order forms, and products as needed.

Star Search Talent Show: Star search duties involve auditions, dress rehearsal and show preparation. Help is needed during school lunch shifts and on designated nights to sell tickets, collect tickets, coordinate/sell concessions, distribute programs, and assist with other duties during rehearsal and show nights.

Student Recognition:

Gold Card - This committee helps with copying and distributing the "Gold Card" given to students who maintain academic achievement and are on the honor roll each quarter. Help is needed to make awards available monthly.

Red Bag - Members are needed to prepare and distribute a Red Bag that is awarded to approximately 80-90 students each month. The awards are given to students by faculty members to reward good behavior, positive attitude, outstanding effort, etc. as determined by the faculty member. Staff may nominate one student per month, and students may only receive one award per year.

Staff Appreciation: These volunteers provide staff tokens of appreciation throughout the year and plan a week of teacher appreciation activities during National PTA - Teacher Appreciation Week. Committee duties involve soliciting donations and planning activities for over 100 staff members, as well as showing appreciation in other ways throughout the week. Ideas, donations, bakers, and decorators are all needed.

Volunteer Coordinator: Coordinates volunteer sign-up sheets for 6th grade orientation and back-to-school nights, and distributes completed lists to PTSA committee chairs and coordinators. Assists with finding volunteers for specific needs/events throughout the year.
